Marquise Technologies at IBC 2014: 4K Mastering, Control and Distribution for Digital Cinema and broadcast

Swiss-based developer of high-end solutions for post-production Marquise Technologies will showcase at IBC the most comprehensive workflow for handling of cinema, broadcast or broadband content from its creation to its delivery.

Geneva, Switzerland - Marquise Technologies announced today the products to be demonstrated at IBC 2014: by offering a comprehensive and efficient 4K workflow including capture, dailies management, conforming, high-end real-time color grading, mastering of DCP and IMF, KDM management and quality & control of the content, Marquise Technologies forestall the complex needs of the industry.

Pioneering MIST Master revolutions the art of mastering with a new concept for an efficient creation and versioning of a content, could it be for cinema screening, television broadcast of web streaming: the Assembler mode.

The Assembler mode gives an immediate representation of the contents of a package: the different assets (video, audio, subtitles) are displayed in bins for a better overall visualization. The assets can be copied, replaced or moved in one click. The Assembler mode offers a new, simple and effective method for DCP and IMF versioning.

Supplemental Packages management for DCP and IMF is now achieved either using the Assembler mode, or the Timeline. Original master and versions can now be merged for creating a new delivery on-the-fly.

DCI Mastering features include three additional modes for Chromatic Adaptation, making MIST the most advanced solution for XYZ color space conversions. Multiple Packing Lists are now supported, as well as DBox tracks and TKR (Theater Key Retrieval protocol).

Broadcast mastering is now enhanced with HEVC support, and EBU R128 Audio Loudness monitoring.

IMF packaging includes the support of Application 2, and a preview for the Applications 2e and 2e+ currently under standardization process.

Quality control is the chosen field of ICE, Image Control Engine. ICE plays back any type of file from SD to 4K, including encrypted DCP as well IMF packages, RAW data, mezzanine or uncompressed formats immediately, without prior ingestion. ICE also benefits from the HEVC support and EBU R128 Audio Loudness monitoring.

ICE's key features include a validation process of DCP and IMF packages with the assessment of the compliance and the integrity of the packages, automatic resizing, color space conversions for REC2020, ACES, DCI XYZ, and play out on UHDTV monitors or 4K DCI projectors.

ICE is a Client / Server application and supports RS422 remote transport control, allowing maximal flexibility in a multiple screening room's environment.

The last mile for content delivery is becoming less problematic with a newcomer in digital cinema distribution, KeyMaster.

KeyMaster is a cloud-based platform which provides post-production facilities, studios and distributors with the perfect tools to easily manage the KDMs duplication, their delivery and the control of the whole process. KeyMaster is available in different versions, serving from KDM creation for content validation needs, to duplication business models.

"We are proud of the extension of our solutions from content creation to delivery. For each stage of the process, we provide our customers with efficiency, flexibility, reliability and ease of use to handle complex tasks, allowing small, medium and large facilities to develop new business opportunities until then unachievable" says Laurence Stoll, CEO of Marquise Technologies.

At IBC visitors will be able to follow demonstrations of the new features of MIST Master, including the latest integration of the DVO tools, of 4K DCP quality control using ICE and of KDM duplication with KeyMaster.
