Marquise Technologies to release
ICE 3.0 Reference QC Player

Permitting facility operators unrivaled quality control operations
of 4K HDR content

Geneva, September 6, 2018 - Marquise Technologies announced the release of the 3.0 version of ICE, the Reference QC Player. Designed for the business of quality control, ICE has been enriched with numerous new features allowing the playback and validation of the widest range of industry formats from dailies to masters, including editorial and grading, for every workflow, digital cinema, broadcast and online.

Key features of ICE 3.0 include the support of an unlimited number of independent subtitles tracks and audio channels (sidecar files), a dual viewport for version comparison, the display of safe area and a variety of audio and video scopes, including a CIE chromaticity diagram, a waveform with HLG & PQ modes as well as overlays and blankings on SDI output.

The advanced color management of ICE includes subtitles’ color space and brightness control in HDR. ICE offers HDR up/down and across standards conversions, permitting for example the preview of PQ HDR content converted in SDR or HLG. HDR metadata are carried on HDMI with supporting video IO cards. ICE supports Dolby Vision, software and hardware CMU, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG as well as ACES 1.1.

ICE has the unique capacity to remote control the Mastering Display device and automatically sets the monitor according to the color space, EOTF and luminance levels information enclosed in the media or set by the user (ST-2086 Mastering Display Color Volume Metadata), giving the operator full confidence in the image displayed.

ICE now integrates with a variety of automated QC tools and can load the QC reports, allowing an easy human validation of the stated errors. ICE also exports HDR and PSNR analysis in PDF and XML.

ICE has the widest range of IMF standard support, including App. #2, 2e (Studio Profile), App. #4 (Cinema Mezzanine), App. #5 (ACES) and Academy Digital Source Master, IMF ProRes RDD45 and TSP 2121 Application DPP (ProRes). Photon is also integrated, together with numerous validation tools for IMF and DCP packages.
