Marquise Technologies joins the DPP

Geneva, Switzerland, 08.09.2017 Geneva, Switzerland: Swiss-based developer of high-end solutions for post-production Marquise Technologies today announced its membership of the Digital Production Partnership (DPP), the medias industry’s business change network.

The DPP represents the whole media supply chain with production companies, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, post production facilities, consultancies, broadcasters, distributors, and not-for-profit organisations as members, working together to help create industry best practice, system interoperability and unified delivery specifications.

The DPP has recently begun developing a specification for a new version of the Interoperable Master Format (IMF), specifically for broadcast and online, in partnership with EBU and SMPTE. Marquise Technologies, a member of different working groups within these organisations in relation to the standardization of IMF, and today leading the IMF solutions market with the mastering system MIST, the reference player ICE and TORNADO for automated transcoding, will now join forces with the DPP as an active member of its Mastering Format working group.

Mark Harrison, DPP Managing Director, said "We’re delighted to welcome Marquise Technologies into the Digital Production Partnership. They bring a wealth of experience in IMF and cloud production and will add huge value to our work delivering the new IMF for Broadcast and Online specification. We look forward to working with the team over the coming months."

“Although IMF is one of our main focuses, we have never thought about it as a unique format in the industry. In our view, IMF is a communication protocol, the link between post facilities and final content receivers, each having their own delivery specifications. The work of the DPP, encompassing all of these aspects, matches this vision perfectly, and we are very proud to benefit from their broadcast industry expertise” added Laurence Stoll, CEO of Marquise Technologies.

At IBC 2017 Marquise Technologies will showcase an operational implementation of the draft IMF ProRes application in their mastering system, MIST, demonstrating an end-to-end workflow from working versions to DPP Air Master deliveries.
